Wamulu International has a Board of eight staff and nine Directors. Together with our team of committed staff and volunteers, we are confident that we have the right people and experience in place to impact the lives of many people in Africa.
Robert Wafula, Founder & Chief Executive
Robert founded Wamulu International in 1997 and has overseen Wamulu’s transition from a community-based organisation to a registered NGO in Kenya. He holds a Bachelors degree, a Diploma in Horticulture and Certificates in various aspects of development, including agriculture, HIV/AIDS, business development and marketing. He has over 15 years experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation and has extensive knowledge of issues in Western Kenya and works daily on creative solutions to these problems. Robert Wafula is the focal point between the organization and its partners.
Muriel W. Musiayi, Chief Finance Officer
Muriel joined Wamulu in 2010 as the head of our finance department after working with Bungoma Savings and Credit Co-operative Society. She holds a Diploma in Business, Administration and Accounts from Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology. She is passionate about promoting human development.
Wesonga Hughes, Human Resources Manager
Hughes joined Wamulu as our Human Resources Manager in 2017. He received a Diploma in Human Resources from Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology. He has experience in agriculture working with One Acre Fund, where he assisted farmers by providing training in crop husbandry, pesticide control management, book keeping, harvesting and marketing.
Professor Moni Wekesa, Director
Moni has been with Wamulu since 2000 and has provided invaluable legal advice for the organisation. He has a PHD in law from the University of Nairobi and has been the Dean of school of law Mount Kenya University for the last 10 years.
